Success is generally considered to be the attainment of desired objects in the worldly life. However, in the eyes of Islam, success is not limited to material achievements, for example, nor is it limited to worldly life; Rather, in the eyes of Islam, the ultimate success of man is to attain security in this worldly life and salvation in the afterlife by attaining the pleasure of Allah.

Islam is the bridge between this world and the hereafter: Islam has created a bridge between the world and the afterlife of man. Both life security and liberation are mentioned as criteria of success. Rasulullah (SAW) said: 'Successful is someone who embraces Islam, has abundant sustenance and is happy with what God has bestowed upon him (in the worldly life)' (Sahih Islam, Hadith: 1054).

Another hadith stated: 'Good news for that person who was guided by Islam, he had a lot of livelihood and he was happy with it.' (Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2349)

Three Pillars of Safety and Success: Rasulullah (PBUH) mentioned three pillars of success in human life in two hadiths. That is, acceptance of Islam, ease of living and being happy with what God has given.

One. Happiness of faith and Islam: According to the Prophet, the first pillar of success is to gain the happiness of faith and Islam. Faith means trusting in God and His Messenger. And Islam is to implement it in life. It is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, "For those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is good news and a happy outcome." (Surah Rad, verse 29)

Two. Ease of Livelihood: Wealthy and secure life is a special grace of Allah. Islam does not forbid the avoidance of happiness in this worldly life to earn money, but it encourages earning a living to the extent that the need is fulfilled. So that the thought of life and livelihood does not dominate him to become angry with the remembrance of Allah and engage in wrongdoing with Him. Rasulullah (s.a.w.s.) said, 'Two angels come at sunrise and sunset and they make announcements that are heard by all the creatures of the world except humans and jinns. They said, O people, come to your Lord. Because that which is small in number but more in fulfilling the need is extraordinary than that which is more in quantity and angers the Creator.' (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith: 21721)

Rasulullah (SAW) prayed for his family, "O Allah, grant sustenance to the family of Muhammad." (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6460)

Three. Contentment and contentment: One of the achievements of life is to be happy and satisfied with the means and tools of earthly life that the Creator has given. Because the lack of contentment creates unlimited hunger and prayer, which motivates man to resort to evil ways. Rasulullah (s.a.w.) used to pray for satisfaction with the livelihood given by the Creator. He used to pray, 'O Allah, grant me the Tawfiq to be satisfied with the sustenance that You have given me, bless me with it, and preserve for me every absent benefactor.' (Adabul Mufrad, Hadith: 686)

Contentment does not mean reluctance to work: Contentment in God-given life does not mean distraction from work and development. Because Islam, for example, told people to be happy in the distribution of Allah, as well as commanded to earn a living. It is said, 'When the prayer is completed, spread out to the world and seek the favor of Allah with him.' (Surah Juma, verse 10)

Security of Life in Obedience to Allah: Peace and security of human life lies in the security of Allah. God Almighty says, "O you who believe, respond to the Lord and the Messenger when they greet you so that the Lord will give you life." (Surah Anfal, verse 24)

In the explanation of this verse, most commentators say that faith and Islam are intended by giving life. Because with its help people get peace, security and honor in both worlds. Allama Ibnul Qayyim (RA) said, "Surely a good life is achieved by responding to the call of the Creator and the Messenger." Life is no life for one who fails to respond to their call. His life is like that of an animal (aimless and devoid of welfare).

Hereafter is the real life: Islam has created a bridge between this life and the hereafter, but has given priority to the eternal life of the hereafter. Rasulullah (SAW) said: 'O Allah, the Hereafter is real life. So do good to Ansar and the Muhajireen.' (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6413). May Allah grant everyone security and success in both worlds. Amen.
